**As a belated 2015 New Years Resolution, I decided I would write a daily (or, almost daily, I know some days I just won’t be able to find the time) blog answering a thought provoking question from a long list of questions I found here in a quest of self exploration.
Today’s Chosen Question :
Who do you love and what are you doing about it?
That’s an interesting question. I do not romantically love anyone right now, in fact I abstain from relationships altogether for many personal reasons. But love is a word definitely not applied to only romantic situations. I have a lot of issues with a lot of family members, but I truly love my Dad and he has been there for me unconditionally despite us having a rocky past. I have been trying lately to reach out to him more, to bridge that gap from the point where a parent goes from being a “parent” to a friend, and he has been trying too, and I am extremely grateful that he is in my life. I make sure he knows that.
I love my best friends, two people I have known for many years that do not have a mean bone in their body. I have been through a lot of “friends” that would use your vulnerabilities as a weapon against you at the first opportunity, etc, and it really puts things into perspective. I have been trying to keep in better touch with positive people in my life and let them know that I really appreciate them as people and as friends.
If you love someone… no matter what kind of love, romantic, family, friendship – say it. Tell them. Let them know. Sometimes getting a random message just saying you are appreciated, you are in someones thoughts, someone misses you etc can really make your day, so make someone else’s day as often and as much as you can. 🙂
