For the sake of blogging and self-exploration and contemplation, I’ve been slowly making my way through answering questions from this list
Today’s Question : Is there ever a time when giving up makes sense?
I’ve learned the hard way that there’s a difference between ‘giving up’ and ‘letting go.’ You shouldn’t have to fight against anyone or anything for your own happiness, and sometimes the things you think will make you happy really aren’t a part of the path that’s meant for you. If you’re having to swim against the current, and even when doing so you’ll still sliding backward, it’s perfectly okay to move on to a different river until you find your flow. It’s important to learn to trust that life has a place for you, and it might not always be the place you envisioned but you’ll know in your gut when something is right for you and when it’s not. Is it really “giving up” to remove yourself from a struggling situation? I suppose it depends on how you look at it, but in my opinion, yes, it’s perfectly okay to give up on something that is not leading you toward happiness.
