** The first three books in my six-part dystopian series have officially made their way out into the world! Check them out!
For the sake of blogging, self-exploration, and contemplation, I’ve been slowly making my way through answering questions from this list
Today’s Question: Where do you find peace?
I find peace in simplicity. I don’t like drama, I don’t like complication, and I don’t like making things more complicated than they need to be. I find peace spending time with my animals; petting my cat, taking my dogs to the park, riding my horse. I spend as much time with animals as I possibly can because I prefer their company over other humans. Don’t get me wrong, I have good friends that I genuinely adore, respect, and enjoy the company of, but I even keep my friendships simple – dinner and drinks, theatre, a light hike or a trail ride on our horses, etc. I’ve learned over the past few years to pick my battles, to unapologetically not allow negativity into my life, and to do the things I enjoy when the opportunities to do so present themselves rather than chasing after something I think will make me happy, but running into too many roadblocks along the way.
Peace is found when you just stop forcing life to be one constant struggle. Stop. Struggling. Stop fighting against the current and just let go and go with it instead. Actually, that’s the best way to put it that I can think of. I find peace with the natural current of wherever life wants to take me. It’s as simple as that.Da
