Today’s Question: What do you have trouble seeing clearly in your mind?
Interesting question! There are many situations in which even if I don’t agree with someone’s opinion or viewpoint, I can understand how or why they may have that opinion or viewpoint. I can be pretty accepting and open-minded a great deal of the time, but I’m not perfect, and there are some viewpoints, opinions, and behaviors that I absolutely cannot wrap my mind around, at all, no matter how hard I try. Right now, it’s a certain issue in politics, namely, the person sitting in the White House.
Our current ‘President’ is a liar. This is not an opinion. This is an objective fact. There are countless instances where he has made certain statements ON CAMERA and then later swears up and down that he didn’t say them despite indisputable proof of the contrary. What I don’t understand and can’t wrap my mind around are the people who stand by him and say along with him, “He didn’t lie!” …. Yes, yes he did. This is not a statement made based on my personal disgust of his values, his approaches, or anything else, this is a fact. Here he is, on film, making this statement. Fact.
There’s many things I don’t understand about this President, but his supporters are even more baffling to me than the guy himself. I don’t think there’s ever going to be a point in time where I can Cleary understand how anyone can watch his lies, his encouragement of violence and division, his racism, etc, and say “Yep, THAT’s the guy for me!” It’s just not in my capability to understand.
