DailyBlog: Impressing Others

*** The first three books in my six-part dystopian series have officially made their way out into the world! Check them out!
For the sake of blogging, self-exploration, and contemplation, I’ve been slowly making my way through answering questions from this list

Today’s Question: What do you do to deliberately impress others?

Honestly… nothing. Even during my younger years when a lot of people were consumed with what others thought of them, I had minimal interest in impressing others.

Note: I do believe that impressing people and proving yourself to people are two different things, and there are definitely times when I’ve gone out of my way to prove myself to others — or often, to prove someone wrong who I feel underestimated me. I’m not looking for them to be in awe of me, I’m looking for recognition of my competency. We all want to be seen for our capabilities, but that’s not the same as wanting to impress someone. I don’t care if people like me or don’t like me, as long as they’re not basing their opinion off of false information or a misjudgment of me. I feel like that’s entirely reasonable and fair.
